Watercolouring pretty flower stamps to make a quick card

Hello everyone! Kassi here and I'm back today to share this lovely new stamp from the Polkadoodles store which is part of the BLOOMING BLOSSOMS stamp collection - it's just gorgeous!

Stamp: Thinking of You Blossom Flower

Color: Daniel Smith Watercolor Confetti Dot card

Quinacridone Lilac, Hansa Yellow Medium, Rose of Ultramarine, Quinacridone Gold, Cascade Green, Green Gold, Moonglow

Sometimes you need a super quick card... for that birthday you forgot, a 'thank you' for an unexpected kindness, or a 'thinking of you' when you find out someone you care about is struggling... Whatever the case, it's nice to have a quick card.

Here's what I do...

Start by stamping the flowers  where you want them. For this style card, I usually put my flowers off center to leave plenty of white space. I chose to put this one in the lower left corner.

Color however you want... I prefer watercolors, but alcohol markers, pencils, even crayons work great!

All the white space that I left can leave things feeling a bit unfinished... So add a border. To keep this card super simple, I just grabbed a black pen and draw some lines... You can do a single line, double lines, dashed lines... No need for it to look perfect. Little squiggles or doodles can hide imperfections and give some visual weight to the lines where needed.

All it needs now is a sentiment... and honestly I won't add one now.

This is what really makes for REALLY quick cards.

I make a bunch of this simple kind of card and keep them in a box in my studio. When I need a last minute card, I  choose one of these cards, add a sentiment, and I can be done in just a  couple minutes!

I love the simplicity of this kind of design. It doesn't take a lot of time, but it looks beautiful! If this is too simple for you, add in whatever embellishments you want! Sequins, gems, or pearls would make pretty accents!

See you soon!
