A quick Christmas card idea using masking and the Ho Ho Holly Stamps...

Hi there, Debbie here! Have you finished making your Christmas Cards yet or are you starting to panic? Here's how to make a quick Christmas Tree card with you by masking just holly leaves.

You need:

·      Good quality white card

·      Patterned Paper: Winter Wonderland PD8211 and PD8151 Toadally Cute

·      Ink: Distress Ink Oxide Festive Berries, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn

·      Black Archival Ink

·      Stamps: Ho Ho Holly PD7989

·      Additional items: Adhesive Tape, Cosmic Shimmer Glue and Masking Sheets

  1. Stamp the Holly leaves a number of times onto Masking Sheets and cut out
  2. Using good quality white cardstock cut 6x4”, randomly blend Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold Distress Ink.
  3. Using a pencil lightly mark the centre of the card, top and bottom, then mark 1.5” on either side of the bottom centre mark. Measure 1” down from the top of the card at the centre. Faintly draw a line from the top mark to the bottom left mark and repeat for the right mark to give you a triangle. This gives you a frame outline for your tree.
  4. Stamp the first Holly leaf, cover with leaf mask and repeat the stamping and masking until you have the tree shape.
  5. Remove the masks and watercolour with distress inks Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn and Festive Berries.
  6. Colour a piece of 6.5 x 4.5” cardstock with Festive Berry Oxide and layer stamped image
  7. Adhere sheets from Winter Wonderland and Toadally Cute to a card and adhere the image onto it.
  8. There is no need to add a sentiment as the Winter Wonderland has the sentiment, but you can add one if you wish.

Hope you liked my card, and it has helped you to make cards by masking stamped images. I look forward to seeing your creations too.

Debbie
